George, the Giant Bunny!

I just received an email from Premier Yarns with some wonderful FREE patterns. I just had to share George, the Giant Bunny with my crochet friends.

Isn't he absolutely wonderful?

"FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approx 45” from toe to top of head.

MATERIALS Premier® Yarns Toy Box™ (100% Acrylic; 100g/109 yds) • #1056-08 Wiffle Ball – 10 balls

Hook: Size US L-11 (8mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.

Notions: Stitch marker, 2 safety eyes or buttons, polyester fiberfill, tapestry needle

GAUGE: Gauge is not critical for this project. Work tightly to ensure that the stuffing will not show through the stitches.

PATTERN NOTES

• The bunny is worked in continuous rounds; do not join at the ends of rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round and move the marker as each round is completed."

• Stuff the body, head, arms, and legs as work progresses. Do not stuff the ears. •

When fastening off, always leave a tail 12-18” long for sewing.

I know a certain young one in my life that would love George!

FREE crochet Mother & Daughter dress...

This adorable dress found on Ravelry came across my Facebook feed the other day and I just had to share it with everyone. The nice part of this pattern is that you can adjust the dress to fit any size by adjusting the size of the granny square, the crochet hook and/or the yarn.

This would make a beautiful cover-up for a day at the beach.

Download the pattern by clicking on the picture. Don't forget to add it to your "Favorites" on Ravelry!

Lavender Chair's Circular Vest CAL..

Recently I took part in a Crochet Along (CAL) for a circular vest hosted by the Lavender Chair. I just got around to finishing my vest:

I used Premier Sweet Rollyarn which is a worsted weight (4) 100% acrylic yarn. First time using and I love the softness and drape of the yarn so I will definitely be using it for other projects that call for a multi-color yarn.

For a size large, it took just shy of 3 rolls. Here is what I had left of my yarn:

While the CAL has ended, the pattern is still available for FREE on the Lavender Chair and directions to add sleeves is also included; you can either add the sleeves or just make the vest.

You will also find a FREE pattern to make the same vest in sizes to fit a child's 2T all the way up to size 8/10.

I highly recommend both the pattern and the yarn..the pattern directions are clearly written and the stitches are easy to do.

I found the most darling crochet Easter dress pattern....

available at Annie's Catalog. Actually, the sundress would be cute worn anytime.

Included in the pattern, which is a design of Lisa Naskrent, are sizes 12 months all the way to size 10:

Pattern available at Annie's Catalog

I ordered the pattern to make one for my Etsy shop in size 18-24 months. The pattern calls for 100% DK cotton yarn, but I decided to use Bernat Baby Sport which worked out just fine.

The pattern was easy to follow and I was able to finish in three (3) evenings. I highly recommend this design for anyone with some crochet experience.

If you would like a "So Hoppy" dress already finished, here is my finished dress that is ready to ship from my Etsy store:

FREE pin cushion pattern...

Recently, a FREE pin cushion mice pattern came across my Facebook feed and I wanted to try it out and share with everyone. I love whimsy and thought it would be perfect to add to my studio:

Even though the whole pattern is put together with hand-stitching, it only took a couple of hours last night to finish.

I used some wool felt that I already washed in warm water and some flannel scraps that I had in my scrap bin. I believe you could also use scraps of wool fabric.

The complete pattern and instructions are available on Bustle & Sew...just click on the above picture to download your copy!

While you are there, be sure to download their "Making Beautiful Softies"; a pdf tutorial of tips to make softies that is FREE to download.

Enjoy!
