Have you ever used size 50 knitting needles for a project?

I recently won several skeins of yarn from Red Heart; one of them was Boutique Twilight, a super bulky yarn in a luscious color called "Mercury" that has silver threads woven in. I put my new yarns aside waiting for the perfect project to either knit or crochet.

Recently, a video came across my desk; it was a Marly Bird pattern with a video, but it required size 50 knitting needles which I didn't have on hand. I watched the video and decided that I just had to try my hand at this project; it looked so soft and warm.

I bought my needles last night and this is my project so far:

The large needles are awkward at first, but I have to say, once you get use to them, they are quite easy to handle. Plus, the best part is that your project knits up very quickly.

This yarn is very soft and will make a beautiful winter accessory; it is so pretty that it will even compliment a dressy outfit at the Holidays.

Here is Marly Bird's video instructions with a link to the FREE pattern from Red Heart in the video description.
